My California Adventure
Well, we're back from our trip to beautiful San Diego, and wanted to tell you all about it. It was my first plane ride ever, and I was so excited to finally be on a plane. I loved seeing all the planes at the airport.
I was even more excited to be on the plane. I got my own seat, and even had a my very on TV. I got to watch BOB-BOB in the air! Things were going well, until I mentioned that I wanted to fly the plane. Mommy and daddy let me sit in the drivers seat of their cars when we get home from being out, why can't I test drive the plane too? This sent me into a downward spiral - quickly.
Luckily, Nana sent along some gifts to keep me occupied, as she knew it would be a long flight for a little guy like me...I got all sorts of fun stuff. Thanks Nana!!
When we got to SD, I finally got to meet some of my family I've only heard about. My older cousin Gregory even got me to go into the pool! Before this trip, I was scared of any water. Not anymore!!
Gramma and Papa also got me a little pool to have in the backyard, incase I didn't like the bigger one...I LOVED it. Gregory did too.
Until I splashed him relentlessly!!
On one day, the whole family went to the San Diego Zoo, one of the coolest places.
Gregory took good care of me.
I got to see so many animals there that I have been reading about lately. I especially liked the panda bear:
We also went on a really fun skyride that gave us an amazing view of the zoo and all the animals.
On another day, after swimming in the morning, we spent the afternoon in Balboa Park and a fun museum nearby that had dinosaurs, and lions and all sorts of prehistoric animals.
The next day we went to Knott's Soak City. It's a water park, and although my parents thought I was over my fear of large bodies of water, I decided to surprise them with screams of terror anytime they attempted to put me in or near water. So, Daddy decided to just throw me down a slide:
Don't let these pictures fool you, I was not having fun at this place!
The next 2 days we spent at Sea World and The SD Wild Animal Park. Both were amazing, and we got really close to some beautiful animals. There was a really cool shark exhibit where we got to go in a tunnel and the sharks swam over us! Here's some pics from Sea World:
My favorite was the gorillas at the Wild Animal Park, and Mommy and Daddy loved how close we got the lions.
One night we went to Petco Park to see the Padres play Philly. They had a really cool bleacher area and even a sand pit for kids to play in. I played the entire 9 innings in the sand and was sad to leave. When will Fenway get a sand pit??
After a busy week, it's always nice to be able to go home and take a dip!
On our last day, we went to the aquarium and to visit Seal Beach in La Jolla. Daddy and I also enjoyed a nice nap before we went for dinner with everyone.
After a very busy and fun week, it was finally time to go home. Plane ride #2 was a much more successful and pleasant time for all of us. I even managed to sneak in a nap.
I had a great week. We did lots of fun stuff, however, I most enjoyed spending time with my family - some of whom I hadn't met till now. I'm looking forward to next summer when they will be visiting me! Love you all- Ryry
